Introduction
Context
It is 2012 and the world is ending, especially in the boreal forest where the human civilization and hunters have taken land and loved ones from each animal family. As more land is overtaken, the animals must pack together, forced to live on limited resources and fight for survival. Nevertheless, a group of travelling bears (English for the French word “ours”), will prevail. Utilizing, leftover scraps from the humans, the bears will use their combined knowledge of physics to lay siege to the humans’ settlements in retaliation and rid them from their forest.
Purpose

A trebuchet is a projectile launcher that was used to be a war machine to demolish battlefields with heavy artillery. In this project we will also be demolishing battlefields this time with tennis balls. The way this happens is by the transfer of energy, kinematics, and projectile motion all requirements in this given assignment and concepts in physics.
Plan

The final product of this project should be long ranged with light mass, visually appealing, reusable and accurate, following our approximate scale of 1.0m x 1.0 mx1.0 m in accordance to the projectiles size and mass and the roject’s size constraints.
1. Research and create a rough design of our trebuchet. We will compile a list of ideas and submit a proposal.
2. Correct proposal with regards to teacher commentary and resubmit.
3. After approval, buy and collect materials for use. This should be completed before the weekend before the project is due so there be plenty of time for building the trebuchet.
4. Build Trebuchet and make adjustments to original plan and document changes for later reflection.
5. Calibrate trebuchet.
6. Evaluation and competition in school.
7. Complete final report and prepare presentation as well as video.
8. Presentation of findings and journey of creation.
